IT Structure PDO Highschool - Mandalay, Myanmar
Following the destruction caused by Cyclone Nargis in 2008, we have been actively involved in the wonderful work done by the people of Phaung Daw Oo Monastery High School in Mandalay, Myanmar. Here, staff consisting of Burmese monks and a group of volunteers from different continents, provides free education to 8000 children from Myanmar with different backgrounds.
Our initial association with the school involved arranging shelter (the Golden House) for 125 orphaned children. Because the World Child Care Foundation is now committed to this cause, we have the opportunity to develop another ambitious plan - to provide a state-of-the-art IT Structure for the entire school and Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA Certification) training for technical students. This project is currently in its planning phase and we are closely cooperating with Germany’s Foerderverein Myanmar.
